Tyler Mazone is a Deaf and neurodivergent bass clarinetist and composer, working towards his doctorate of musical arts in composition from the College of Music. His unique perspective allows him to see music as much more than just notes on a page. To Tyler, music is always a multi-sensory experience, and he shares that experience with audiences through the music he composes. Tyler is also an advocate for accessibility in music education, contributing in part by tailoring his compositions to the abilities of the artists performing them.
At Michigan State University, we know that creative inquiry and expression are integral to advancing knowledge, the cornerstone of our mission. Spartans illustrate every day the varied ways that the arts are an essential part of the MSU experience.
