ABOUT

MSU Federal Credit Union Showcase Series

The Woodward String Quartet, comprised of principal musicians from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, takes the Fairchild Theatre stage for an enchanting evening of chamber music. The program features Joseph Haydn’s luminous “Sunrise” String Quartet No. 4,the evocative String Quartet No. 1 by MSU composer Zhou Tian, and concludes with the quartet joining forces with student chamber musicians from the College of Music for Felix Mendelssohn’s exhilarating Octet for Strings. The visionary quartet includes nationally and internationally award-winning soloists Robyn Bollinger, violin; Kimberly Kaloyanides-Kennedy, violin; Wei Yu, cello; and violist Eric Nowlin, MSU College of Music assistant professor of viola.  Classical music aficionados and newcomers alike will be captivated by this powerful program, showcasing vibrant and masterful musicians from the DSO and MSU.

This event will be available for livestream.

Generously sponsored by Dr. Robert W. Uphaus and Dr. Lois M. Rosen.
