ABOUT

Join Spartan Upcycle for a 2-in-1 upcycling event that combines Halloween costume making and a student-led campus art project. Find us at Surplus & Recycling in the Education Center on Fri. Oct. 27 from 1 to 5 p.m.

*Student Upcycle Friday ~ DIY Halloween Costumes:

Upcycle a mishmash of supplies and make your Halloween idea come to life! Use our materials to construct or continue working on your own costume or accessory. Come with a vision in mind or just let the materials inspire you!

We’ll have everyday supplies like fabric, wire, cardboard, paint, yarn, etc. plus some special goodies like a few pre-loved masquerade masks, a selection of costume apparel that can be repurposed, miscellaneous objects that can be used as props, and assorted surplus clothes to reimagine.

*This event is for students.

Community Art Project:

Participate in an unconventional community art project! Add fabric to the blades of an industrial fan to create a textile-waste themed mosaic. Once completed the piece will be displayed in a campus building.

Artist Delaney Henderson, a senior in RCAH, is leading this project, which explores the relationship between found objects, creativity, and our community.
