David Young Kim is an art historian of the early modern period in a global context. His research equally engages with theories of art, historiography, and film. While his seminal books on the traveling artist and on groundwork in the Renaissance have opened new fields of inquiry, his current project deals with the translations of Vasari’s famous sixteenth-century biographies of artists in Korea. All are welcome to attend this lecture!
