ABOUT

How is The Divine Comedy relevant today? What was its mark on the history of art and on our imagination of hell? Dante, A Divine Comedy, by Ellen Wetmore (writing and images) and Jiba Moleil Anderson (letters, development, and editing) is distinct from its medieval namesake, is graphic novel built on American constructs of race and of academia. It considers hell, heaven, and purgatory as if they are with us, adjacent to Sartre’s notion that we create our own hell and we live in it. What is hell? And for whom?
