ABOUT

Community members are invited to meet and hear from members of a diverse set of advocacy groups dedicated to gun violence prevention at MSU, within the greater Lansing community, and across Michigan. See what others are doing and how you can get involved. At 12pm there will be a short spoken word program focused on the themes of hope, resilience, and nonviolence with readings by local poets led by Ruelaine Stokes, the Lansing Poet Laureate. This event is programmed alongside the exhibition Art in the Aftermath: Healing Gun Violence through Artivism and organized in conjunction with End Gun Violence Michigan.

Art in the Aftermath: Healing Gun Violence through Artivism, an exhibition of activist art produced by individuals affected by our nation’s epidemic of gun violence, is on view Feb. 5–13, 2025, at the MSU Broad Art Museum.
