From visual art to creative writing to the performing arts, MSU hosts a variety of camps that invite young artists to explore their talents, build new skills, make friends, and express themselves in supportive, inspiring environments across campus.
Guided by professional artists and passionate educators, these summer arts programs offer unforgettable experiences where imagination thrives and confidence shines.
Spartan Writing Camp gives young writers countless opportunities to write about the thoughts, ideas and experiences that move them. Students will nurture and develop the writer within using Michigan State’s campus for inspiration. Each summer campers search for stories and capture memories on visits to the Red Cedar River, Michigan State University’s beautiful gardens, the Dairy Store, museums and other places around campus.
As divisions of the MSU College of Music, the MSU Community Music Schools in East Lansing and Detroit bring the transformative power of music to individuals of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. CMS offers a variety of summer day-camps focused on different areas of music expression including middle school band, beginning strings, and music therapy.
Wharton Center’s Take It From The Top summer camps in East Lansing and Detroit offer exciting opportunities for students of all skill levels. Led by Broadway professionals, students will sharpen their skills in singing, acting, and dancing. Through a variety of camp offerings, young performers will grow faster than they think possible while making memories!
