Colah is the brilliant mind behind the ‘Black in the Garden’ podcast and the visionary founder of ‘Underground Arborist,’ a national tree-planting non-profit. Fueled by inspiration from iconic voice actors and radio jocks during her childhood in Jacksonville, FL, Colah’s passion for horticulture is only rivaled by her love of pastries and Outkast.
Within a year of its inception, the ‘Black in the Garden podcast earned a top-star rating on Apple Podcasts and achieved high chart rankings. With a global audience spanning 90+ countries, Colah B Tawkin connects with influential guests, thought leaders and experts in all things pro nature; heavy on the plants. Her dedication to celebrating Black culture and her talent for curating culturally relevant conversations have nurtured a vibrant, inclusive community. This fertile soil of connections resonates, making her an influential voice in horticulture and cultural podcasting. Within 3 years of podcasting, Colah’s been sought to speak at universities, conferences, public gardens and NPR. She serves on the American Public Gardens Association IDEA Center and is currently a Seed Your Future Advisory Council ambassador.
