Field Trips

As anchor institutions in our state, Michigan State University is honored to often be a place of “firsts” for youth in across the state—first broadway performance, first museum visit, and more.

Schools can be the catalyst of these meaningful “firsts” and extend discovery beyond the classroom with field trips to MSU’s museums and performing arts spaces! Experiences with the arts inspire curiosity and imagination, while reinforcing what our youngest Michiganders are learning through their curriculum.

Art museum field trips can spark engagement with big ideas, and looking at art with peers encourages students to accept and seek diverse perspectives, skills that transfer to all areas of life. Schools participate in a multi-part experience with the MSU Broad Art Museum that brings children into the museum, and then brings the art museum into their classrooms!
